Milford Police Make Arrest in HoJo Shooting

Authorities say additional arrests may be forthcoming.

A Bridgeport man has been arrested in connection with a June shooting in the Milford Howard Johnson parking lot that sent officers scrambling for the suspected parties after they apparently fled the scene.

Wilfredo Vega, 25, was charged Thursday with criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Initial investigation of the June 6 shooting found a bullet lodged in the side of a vehicle in the lot located adjacent to the Athenian Diner. No injuries have yet to be reported by police, who believe the dispute involved two parties.

Police said additional arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation continues. Anyone with information should call authorities at 203.783.4728 or email them at dyoud@ci.milford.ct.us or submit a crime tip online at www.milfordpd.org.
