Sonic to Start Hiring for Milford Location on July 19

After getting the OK from the city last month to retrofit the Milford Arby’s with canopies for its signature drive-in parking spots, Sonic this week will start the hiring process for its future location on the Boston Post Road.

The first of two “hiring dates” will be Friday, July 19 to Saturday, July 20, next to Five Below store in the Walmart plaza, according to signs on the property. The second session will be Saturday, July 27 to Sunday, July 28, at the same location.

Arby’s closed down operations at 1365 Boston Post Road on June 29. The have another location down the road in Orange, though, at 121 Boston Post Road.

Sonic plans to add enough canopies to provide for 12 drive-in parking spots, Planning and Zoning Board Chairman Mark Bender told Milford Patch in June.

That number is less than its other locations in Connecticut because “they didn’t feel they had the room” to fit more, Bender said.
