What the World Needs Now, a Bacharach Concert

Spend an afternoon with legendary
composer Burt Bacharach when the Saint Ann Music Ministry presents What the
World Needs Now
, a Bacharach concert, on

Sunday, September 29 beginning at 4:00 PM in the church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue
in Milford.  Parish Music Director
Peter DeMarco, who has performed extensively throughout the New York metropolitan
area, will be at the piano, joined by a group of selected soloists.  The concert will include tunes that are

signature Bacharach as well as what DeMarco calls some “hidden gems.”

After his early days as accompanist to Marlene Dietrich, Burt Bacharach collaborated with lyricist Hal David, a partnership that has been called “one of the most fruitful in the history of pop music.”  The result: hit songs based on melodies that “are in a state of constant, subtle and arrestingly beautiful flux.”  Bacharach has received three Academy Awards and eight Grammy Awards (including the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award and 1997 Trustees Award with Hal David).

The public is invited to enjoy this special musical presentation.   There is no admission charge.  For information or directions please call 203-874-0634.
