Spalthoff Congratulates Mayor Blake, Thanks Supporters

Republican candidate concedes defeat in race for Milford mayor.

By Peter Spalthoff

I would like to first of all congratulate Ben for his victory and I wish him the best.

This was a long seven-month campaign and although it did not come to the conclusion I had worked for, or hoped for, it was still a wonderful experience and one I am glad I had the opportunity to experience.

The candidates that I ran with, were all dedicated individuals who only wanted what was best for Milford and I wish them well as they assume their newly elected positions.

To the individuals that I worked with during the campaign who helped with the signs and calls and everything else surrounding the campaign, I can't thank them enough and I am sorry that I was not able to win. However, their commitment was more than I could have asked for.

And to the Milford union members, the Milford District Animal Advocates and other groups who put their all on the line for me, I can only thank you all again for the confidence and trust you showed me. Sorry the outcome wasn't what I had hoped for.

Finally, to my wife Susan who was my everything during the campaign, I can't thank you enough. You went above and beyond the marital vows, and I cannot forget the wonderful people of the City who did show their support of me with their vote. I am truly honored by it.

All in all, as I said this was a wonderful experience and one I will always have fond memories of. Thanks everyone from the bottom of my heart.
