Blake Supporter Comments on Campaign Signs

Says Milford businesses display both candidate's signs in the lead-up to the Nov. 5 election.

By Rich Smith

A recent letter written by Republican mayoral candidate Peter Spalthoff's campaign manager, Dan Rindos, contended that small businesses in Milford were supporting Peter, evidenced, the letter implies, by the presence of Spalthoff campaign signs in front of their respective establishments.

Mr. Rindos cites Fox Computer as one prime example. But Rindos doesn't stop there, he cites other businesses such as Frosty Twist, Joe's Carpet, The Sundae House and others as having Spalthoff signs and, according to Mr. Rindos, this demonstrates support.

While I understand Mr. Rindos's desire to find some hope, some reason to believe, the truth is that Frosty Twist, Joe's Carpet, The Sundae House, Stonebridge and others actually have both candidate's signs on their properties.

I'm not sure that translates into support for Peter. Unfortunately I think Mr. Rindos will have to wait to see which candidate truly has the most support of Milford's voters when they come out to cast their ballots on November 5th.

Editor's note: At the request of the writer, a section of this letter has been removed. The portion that no longer appears above concerned Spalthoff's Independent Party endorsement and campaign signage at Fox Computer, whose owner is the chairman of that party, the letter writer had wrote.
