Pop’s Family Restaurant opens today at its new location on Old Gate Lane.
The new spot is more spacious than the former New Haven Avenue location but has about the same amount of seating, Virginia Kikis of Pop’s told Milford Patch last month.
Kikis said her family wanted to own the land they work on – they had been renting the New Haven Avenue space.

The timing of the move is bittersweet to those at Pop’s.
“We don’t want to forget the people who helped get us to this point, especially Bonnie Smith Arlio,” reads a message on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

“Bonnie succumbed to ALS exactly one year ago on July 8, 2012. In her memory, on July 8, 2013, we will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from that day to the ALS Foundation.”
