I keep hearing about how good Obama care is and when I ask people(liberals) what plan they have theyRead More are so uniformed they don't know and can't find out.
Dan Byer July 25, 2014 at 11:52 am
I firmly believe that the goals of the Affordable Care Act are noble, necessary, solid, andRead More attainable. The plan is not perfect, but it's far better than the alternative: doing nothing and continuing to let the system screw over the people. This court ruling is just a blatant play on the conservative propaganda aimed at the uninformed consumer. "Hey! Obamacare is going to make you pay more!" NO. We are not fools. It is only your b.s. obstructionist court ruling that is going to make the consumer pay more. Stay out of the way. Let it run it's course. It WILL work.

I don't have time to read the comments here, but has anyone complained about how much Obama travelsRead More in Air Force One for fundraisers? Because I don't think anyone has.
Average Joe July 25, 2014 at 10:00 am
Good catch KJ, PRESIDENT Obama will not get my vote again !

Just another idiot looking for a handout from the state with the help of a scum lawyer.

In this day and age you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times in public and even inRead More bathrooms and changing rooms to protect yourself. I understand why this woman is so upset, I do. (I thought the State was immune from lawsuits.) All this does is drive up the cost oif insurance for state and municipal parks, when so many are working to preserve them, this kind of lawsuit deters more towns and states from acquiring and keeping parkland.

Ca Pen I can see your point, but tears after 3 years? Pushing it a little. Policies/procedures areRead More in place and they being used. You will never stop crime no matter how many procedures you have.

OK, all you men on here making comments, did you LOOK at this old guy's picture? Did you notice theRead More "woman" is only 18 and probably the daughter of the homeowner? It was obvious by the fact that she left the room until he was done that she was scared of him, not that she "changed her mind". If you think for one moment that a teenager would be at all interested in having her back massaged by this ugly old man, then you need help!
Debbie Russell July 25, 2014 at 10:15 am
The risks are real and there are steps you can take to increase your personal safety! Increase yourRead More sense of empowerment and safety, rather than your sense of victimization and fear and take our next women's self defense seminar on August 9th from 12-2:00 @The American Institute of Tae Kwon Do in Monroe
Igor July 25, 2014 at 11:26 am
Well Clare where does this say the girl is a raving beauty? She might be and she might not be. ItRead More was pretty crude thing to say about this guy. How attractive would you be having a mugshot taken? Maybe the girl was lonely, maybe not. If you read my previous post. Don't know one way or another, but I don't think you can just go on her word alone. Do you remember Andrea Mears who beat the hell out of the guy flying a drone and then told the police he attacked her. If it was for the video everyone would have believed her. I said at the time that Andrea didn't do females any favors because from then on the female's story get harder to believe. BTW she said she left the home, there is only her word for that.

I'm glad someone cared enough to find who killed these woman. They weren't for gotton by theseRead More wonderful officers. God Bless Them.
Elliott July 25, 2014 at 08:58 am
I cant agree with you more, Lin. People need to learn that they WILL get caught eventually
Dave July 25, 2014 at 06:33 am
It is their constitutional right to ask others for help. If you don't want give don't. When visitingRead More the stake of Liberty in NY. a homeless man was sleeping in one of the window sills and smelled awful. Point is he was allowed to stay as it was his right as an American. Would you rather the pan handlers smelled and were filthy? Get off you high hoarse for the grace of God you are not standing there.
RONALD M GOLDWYN July 25, 2014 at 07:54 am
Thank you Dave.
jabatti July 25, 2014 at 11:13 am
This is Milford, not NY and there are way too many panhandlers on the corners. All of them haveRead More housing, they are offered work, they refuse, they are offered food, they refuse. They want $, many of them smoke. Go and and give if you want, our panhandlers dress nice, have cell phone phones and apartments. (don't let them fool you) Just an F.Y.I for the task force, the panhandlers are out and about and I have seen them this week. There is a gentleman out in front of the corner of Pilot gas station near the entrance to 95 North.

To everyone faulting DI for not commenting on this, I completely disagree with you. They made aRead More simple statement saying that there was more to the story than what we are being told. That's all they need to do. Unlike this attention grabbing entitled mother and her uncontrollable kid, DI is taking the dignified approach by not partaking in a public display of he said/ she said. Good for them. Take another look at the tv report and tell me that kid is not out of control. He is running all over the place with the reporter's microphone, which he has no business even touching. Clearly the mother has not taught him the word "no". Better that he learn at 4 that the world will not tolerate his obnoxious behavior. God bless his teachers. :)
Carolyn Armstrong July 25, 2014 at 11:13 am
I agree some one has to teach these kids basic manners and for those of us who do teach these thingsRead More at home it is good to finally have back up from the rest of society. Yes, I say God bless his teachers wherever they come from
Dawn July 25, 2014 at 11:35 am
I heard this mother on the radio who was out of her mind saying her kid doesn't need to change toRead More please the world and the world should just accept him. Absolutely no discipline. Further, on the same radio show, numerous people from the area called up stating they stopped patronizing this shop because of this out of control kid. This mother and her little snowflake are a snapshot of what is wrong with this country today. No respect for anyone.
jabatti July 23, 2014 at 10:35 am
He should serve 12 years, what he did was disgusting. He STOLE from the Special Olympics (aRead More non-profit) that relies on contributions and TRUST of others. What did he do with the money he stole from Milford Rotary? I have been affiliated with Milford Rotary with a member since I was little, I worked the lobster bakes, so I take this personally. Weir is/was rich, make him sweat it out for longer than 4 years, no matter who his lawyer is. Otherwise it sounds like Milford Politics strikes yet again. It is all about who you know in this small city with a big heart.
BJ July 23, 2014 at 01:33 pm
Fake, Jabatti wrote Milford Politics, not Milford Police.

I am the Treasurer of the Milford Lions Club, I am also the oldest Lion in terms of service and IRead More have been presented with every Award that my club can present a member. Let me say that only an honest person can be guilty of embezzlement, because only an honest person can be placed in a position to embezzle funds. Yes he admits he is guilty, but what of his organizations. The term "Asleep at the switch comes to mind" Was there no Annual audits to oversee the bookkeeping of the Treasurer? Does not the President and Past Presidents share a role in the embezzlement even if not in the legal sense but in the sin of omission, the sin of failing to oversee the junior officers. Especially since the crimes went on for so long a period of time. Now they lock the barn door. I too have held many similar positions of honor and respect and never would I sell my good name so cheaply. Never should my fellow members put me in a position to be tempted. Thank you all.
RONALD M GOLDWYN July 24, 2014 at 02:19 pm
I am pleased to second the honor that our Mayor bestowed upon the City Clerk's Office. The fact thatRead More this most important office ran so smooth is a sign of excellent training by their boss. I am also pleased that our Mayor saw fit to honor these employees. He made a wise choice. Ron Goldwyn, MRTC 2nd District.

Shouldn't lefty Patch writers include a footnote with their definition of "surplus" inRead More this headline?
Angie Stock July 24, 2014 at 10:51 pm
Because some of us have been on to the DC politicians' misuse of the word "surplus" for aRead More while now, and I'm sure it's not much different here in CT.
Philip July 25, 2014 at 07:52 am
Surplus? Lower my taxes please - you overcharged me
