Adams Supermarket (IGA)

Flag as Inappropriate

Adams is an IGA (Independent Grocers Alliance founded in 1926) supermarket in a shopping plaza at the corner of New Haven and Merwin Avenues. The market became Adams in 1988 (Adams has six stores in Connecticut and one in Massachusetts) and prides itself on its "hometown" feel. Adams offers an on-premise bakery, butcher, florist and deli featuring Boar's Head cold cuts and Hummel's hot dogs. It also carries fresh produce and vegetables, seafood and meats, groceries, postage stamps, lottery, beer and ice. Adding to the hometown feel is an announcements board including lost and found pets. Adams is open seven days a week and also offers online shopping and coupons through its website. Catering is available. A bottle redemption center is located outside on the far right of the building.
