Thanksgiving, Christmas Happenings This Week in Milford

Monday

JFK: Memories and Perceptions of a President Historian David Koch, associate professor of history at Housatonic Community College, takes us back to the 1960s and finds the true history of that time. Free library event starts at 7 p.m. Monday.

Thursday

Pop's Restaurant Offers Free Thanksgiving Dinner For many years, Gus Grigoriadis, owner of Pops Restaurant at 134 Old Gate Lane, generously opens his doors on Thanksgiving Day to those seeking a dinner on this holiday. Dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 28. If you are interested in attending the holiday dinner at Pop's, call to register at 203.876.1210 no later than Nov. 25.

Friday

Milford Green Tree Lighting 
Holiday music, horse and carriage rides, free hot chocolate and an 8-foot balloon making elf. Come celebrate the season and see the jolly red-suited fellow arrive by fire truck. For more information, call the Milford Chamber at 203.878.0681. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday

Celebration of Trees at Milford Hospital The Milford Hospital Auxiliary presents its annual Celebration of Trees event with Kids day on Dec. 7. Breakfast with Santa, magician/ventriloquist, and so much more. $5 per person. Call 203.647.6654 for reservations.

Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale at St. Mary School Fresh cut trees, premium balsam and Fraser firs from Quebec. Beginning Nov. 30, our hours will be Monday – Friday, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tree prices $30 - $70, 12” and 18” wreaths $10 - $12 and cemetery pieces $20. All proceeds benefit St. Mary School www.saintmaryschoolmilford.org.

Jonathan Law High School Class of 1988 Reunion Jonathan Law High School Class of 1988 25th Reunion will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30. The festivities will be at Bridgehouse Restaurant, Bridgeport Avenue, Milford from 7-11 p.m.
