Monday

Women Redefining Retirement: A representative from the Milford Red Cross will speak on disaster preparedness at a 7 p.m. meeting at the Golden Hill Health Care Center, Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Free to attend.

Tuesday

Learn How to Grow Your Business at Library Event: Antelope Web will hold a free seminar conducted by Art Radtke, publisher of the Informed Entrepreneur, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., Milford.

Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social: Join the Milford Young Women's Club or Milford Girl's Volunteer Organization by demonstrating volunteer efforts with senior citizens, veterans, in education, the arts and more. Nonprofit club for girls from any town ages 11-18 and women of all ages. Tuesday event at 369 Herbert St., Milford. Starts at 6:30 p.m.

Evening Adult Book Group: This month the group, which is free and open to new members, is reading "Trip Wire" by Lee Child. Event at the Milford Public Library starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Saturday

39th Annual Milford Oyster Festival: The festival, held in Downtown Milford and Milford Harbor, starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and features Blues Traveler, 200 crafters, amusement rides, a car show, schooner cruises, canoe and kayak races and a lot of oysters. Admission is free.
