Wedding Wednesday

How to add pricier foods to your wedding menu and not break the bank !

There is a way to include pricier food into your wedding menu, AND do it smartly !
You can include shrimp, clams, oysters and filet mignon to serve your wedding guests and still save hundreds on your catering bill. One way is to serve these delicious foods as hand-passed hors d'oeuvres. Have your caterer design dishes that can be eaten in a few bites as opposed to adding them as part of the sit down dinner or buffet table. An example would be, beef skewers with an awesome dipping sauce ! Another way to add simple delicacies would be to use them as a garnish. A dab of caviar on a potato pancake provides upscale flair and taste, for way less than if you set out a tin of beluga. Or how about seafood, served cooked and diced on top of pasta or meat dishes. Seafood crepes are popular entrees, so instead of serving lobster tails to every loved one, include lobster and other seafood chunks in a creamy seafood crepe. Tasty ! How about combination platters ? Rather than giving guests their choice of prime rib or salmon ~ which requires your caterer to buy enough food for every guest to change his or her mind, thereby doubling the shopping order ~ Design a combination platter that includes a few grilled shrimp or a smaller square of salmon, a few medallions of beef, and lots of vegetables and risotto for a full platter of delicious food at a lower price than the expected salmon dinner.
Be smart, get creative and save money too !
