Rustic, hand-made, one-of-a-kind, custom designed, personalized ... these are all words that describe the trend brides are taking when planning their special day. It may because of the new site www.pinterest.com . If you have not heard of Pinterest you must do yourself a favor and check it out. Pinterest is kind of like facebook, but instead of words to communicate with others via social media, you use pictures to get your message across. There are so many artists and crafters "pinning" that you cannot help but get the bug. I saw an adorable idea to encourage your guests to write you well wishes that you can read on your wedding anniversaries. In a wine rack were bottles that were labeled 1,5,10,15,20 & 25. On the table were pretty pieces of paper, embossed with the couples monogram and a beautifully decorated pen. Each guest was invited to write a message to the bride and groom, roll it up, and then place it in whatever bottle they wanted to. The numbers on the bottles corresponded with how many years they will be married when they open that particular one. Adorable right ?
How about this one ? A couple took two window frames and removed the glass. Tacked to each side of the frame were pieces of twine placed in rows all of the way down to the bottom. Kind of like a clothes line. The guests' place cards were clothes pinned to the twine making a very crafty way to guild your wedding guests to their tables.
Yep, you guessed right ... the picture of the birch bark cake below was taken right from Pinterest !
We love this.
