UPDATE: Sand Sculpture Competition Postponed

The event has been rescheduled for August 25th.

Citing concerns about the weather forecast for tomorrow, MFAC Business & Communications Director Kristine Kinsella noted that the MFAC Board of Directors have rescheduled the Sand Sculpture Competition at Walnut Beach for Saturday, August 25th.

and present the 35th Annual Sand Sculpture Competition this Saturday, July 27th, at . 

"A lot of people come from out of state," MFAC Business & Communications Director Kristine Kinsella said, noting the far-ranging appeal of the event.

Two of Kinsella's favorite sand sculptures over the years have been the Volkswagon Beetle and the pigs with little piglets.

There are separate competitions for individuals and groups with trophies and ribbons given out for each category.

The event begins at 11:00 a.m. with sand sculpting taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and judging at 2:30 p.m.
