Lawmen Drop Season Opener to Sheehan [Photos]

Despite the loss, spirits were high as Law celebrates 50 years of football.

Fall arrived with a fury Thursday night as temperatures dipped into the 50s and football season got underway for the Lawmen.

Despite a strong start that included two points off a safety, Law lost its first game of the season to Sheehan 31-23. It was four touchdowns in the second half that ultimately put Sheehan on top, the Connecticut Post reports.

The loss came on a special night for Law athletics. During half-time, the school paid tribute to 50 years of football, with a roll call of names from representatives of the team over the years -- who fittingly stood at the 50-yard line.
