Foran and Law Make a Splash at Class S Finals

Both the Foran and Jonathan Law boys' swim teams competed in Wednesday's CIAC Class S state finals.

The Foran and Jonathan Law boys' swim teams completed their seasons at the CIAC Class S State Championship Meet, Wednesday afternoon at Wesleyan University. Foran's team took home third place amassing 336 points in total.

Top individual performances include Foran sophomore Dylan Swanepoel who took home first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:46.55 and second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.33. Junior Rich Enders took home first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.95.

Jonathan Law swam for a 21st place finish with a total of 40 points.

Strong performances by underclassmen make the future look bright for Foran. However, Coach Kristin Skuches was quick to point out that her team has relied on the experience of 10 seniors, five of which swam Wednesday.

“Probably the first sign that this was going to be a special season was ,” said Skuches. “They're always strong and we lost by three points but it went down to the wire. I think that made our kids believe, if they could do that then they could really do something special with their season and they have.”
