Free Ice Fishing Seminar


Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Milford Recreation Departmentare offering a free ice fishing seminar Friday, Jan. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Margaret Egan Center.

While this class is generally held to help educate younger students (ages 8 and up recommended), everyone is welcome to attend. Learn about ice fishing equipment, techniques, ice safety, and fish behavior during the winter months.

This class is taught by Chief Fishing Instructor Chris DeForge, a state certified and insured instructor with the Connecticut Aquatic Resource Education program. Pre-registration is required in order to prepare adequate demonstration material and assistance. If interested, call 203-877-7571 and leave your name, number, and how many individuals you are registering.

Upon graduation, all students are welcome to participate in the DEEP Family Ice Fishing Derby, Jan. 28, noon to 3 p.m., Lake Wangumbaug (Coventry Lake) in Coventry.
