This is terrific! Consider up-cycling which will also grab kids' attention. Up-cycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value. I featured up-cycled BTS Snack Boxes and Gift Boxes out of used milk and juice cartons in my August 22nd edition of MACARONI KID! Find it here @ http://fairfieldbport.macaronikid.com/

No one can fault this program, but can we go one step further. There are a number of organizations that collect the tabs from cans of soda and beer. Let students collect the 5¢ refund for the bottles and cans, but also save the tabs in jiplock bags for collection by the Boy Scouts and the Freemasons. As a Mason I can report that from tabs collected last year were were able to convert them into over $50,000 for use in the Shrine Hospital in Springfield MA. One tab is like the sand on our beaches, but collected together it can do much good. (I'm in the telephone book, and can use your tabs)
