Milford Schools Closed for Rest of Week

To make up the days lost Milford Schools will be taking back two more days of April vacation. For the April vacation, school will now be open on Tuesday, April 16th through Friday, April 19th.

The following message was posted on Milford Schools' website:

Good Afternoon,

This is Dr. Feser, the Superintendent of Schools. I am calling to inform you that schools will be closed for the remainder of the week. As much as we want to get the children back into school and return to some normalcy, getting them there safely is our priority. Our schools are ready to receive the students, but there remain many roads that the busses are not able to navigate. Moreover, there are countless streets wherein homeowners have not yet cleared their sidewalks making it impossible for walkers to walk safely to school. We are also concerned about mounds of snow that block students’ visibility crossing streets, and block drivers from seeing students. The safety of our walkers and of students riding our busses is the major factors in my decision to remain closed.

So again, school will be closed both tomorrow and Friday, February 14th and 15th. School will re-open on Tuesday, February 19th.

To make up the days lost we will be taking back two more days of April vacation. For the April vacation, school will now be open on Tuesday, April 16th through Friday, April 19th.

The revised April vacation schedule is included in an email communication to you.

I thank you for your patience and understanding. Please remain safe.

Goodbye.
