Maren Sanchez, 16, Named Jonathan Law's Prom Queen

Law juniors held their prom Sunday night

Jonathan Law Junior Class President Maren Sanchez, 16, who had spent months planning the junior class prom, was killed at the school on the night the prom was scheduled to occur. 

On Sunday night, Law juniors held their junior class prom and they did their best to honor Sanchez’s legacy by naming her prom queen, the Milford Mirror reports. 

“Maren was named the prom queen in a touching and emotional moment for all of us,” Jonathan Law Principal Fran Thompson told the Milford Mirror. “Maren was most definitely with us and I know she is smiling.

“I believe this was a special night for remembering, healing and smiling. We certainly needed that,” Thompson told the Mirror. 

Sanchez was reportedly stabbed to death by Christopher Plaskon, 17, after she declined to go to the prom with him.
