Impending snowy weather has postponed the Long Range Planning Committee's public forum scheduled for tonight to next week.

The informational session will now be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Jonathan Law High School, starting at 7 p.m.

The diverse 31-member committee was formed this past summer to rethink the makeup of the school district in light of a declining student body.

Last December, all options on the table pointed to moving to a one high school district. Members also support reverting to the K-5, 6-8, 9-12 configuration.

I had initially planned on attending this meeting to voice my opinion on these proposed plans, however after consideration, I've chosen not to for the following reasons; 1) It will fall on deaf ears. Decisions have been made but the board is following their set process. 2) The same inept decision makers will still be making the same brilliant future proposals, despite public opinion after this hearing. 3) My children will be out of this God forsaken school system by that time. I only wish all parents with children approaching grade school all the best because you will need it.
