Board of Ed Primary Will Narrow Down Democrats in 2nd District

Voters in Milford's 2nd district will have a chance to stick with the party-favored incumbents or introduce a new face into the running at Tuesday's Board of Education primaries.

Parent of two Gary Tobin is challenging board chair Tracy Casey and fellow 2nd district incumbent Susan Glennon for a chance to stand in the general election in November.

Tobin told the New Haven Register he decided to run after reading the results of a recent parent survey administered by Milford Public Schools. While the survey showed general parental satisfaction, it indicated one area of concern was low parental involvement.

"The politicians have to leave because our kids are suffering," he told the Register.

Casey will appear first on the ballot, followed by Glennon, then Tobin.
