Epilepsy and Medications

Presently there are over 40 medications for Epilepsy which come in tablet, capsule, liquid and rectal injection form.  That is a large choice but do you have the right one?   We are not doctors but we do tell people the following.  Speak with your regular doctor and your neurologist, they should be on the same page with everything regarding you and your Epilepsy.  Ask about the medications, can their levels be tested and if the amounts taken are correct.  Too many people are given a lot of medication and they become zoned out.

There is no cure for Epilepsy but you should do everything possible to stay as healthy as possible with the correct medications and amounts.

The other thing you should speak to your doctor about is vitamins, they will know which ones if any you will need.  Some medications for Epilepsy can affect your gums or bones so speak
with your doctor.

In closing even though it is not a medication people with Epilepsy must eat three meals daily and get at least 7 hours of sleep.
