Didn't we do this one already?
I'd say Robert Treat Farm.

How on earth was Filanowski's Farms left off this pole? Please put them on immediately, anyone who has gone there knows that you get treated like family. Love that place.

Hi C.S. - The nominees listed were all recommended by Patch Readers during the nomination process, which began in June. I've added Filankowski's Farms to the poll. Thanks for the tip!

Q Gardens!!!
It's the only one that has everything You would ever need. Filanowskis has great plants and would be a top greenhouse but is not a garden center. Treats is nice but still not complete.

Van Wilgens on the Post Road !

We must be scraping the bottom of the barrel for businesses. Next try "Who is the best undertaker?", then Funeral Parlor?
Then we can try, Who is the best Alderman? or Justice of the Peace? Nowadays all we seem to be doing is trying to provoke reader contacts.

Agree with you, Ron. The Patch offers little of substance (perhaps a statement about Milford more than the Patch, maybe not). Just poll after stupid poll (and that's the Patch's fault). You can get local news faster from the NH Register, what local news there is. Most everything here is a tired puff piece by the same bunch of writers. Maybe that's how they get advertisers.

Hey Ryan, thanks for adding Filanowski's Farm, I may have missed this category. As for those who dislike the patch and think that the mainstream media is a much better source for local news, you have an option, don't log on or read it. See how easy that was? Remember this is a local thing, and these polls bring attention to local businesses who certainly could use the added revenue. Unless you prefer the doom and gloom of another local store closing that WTNH reports?
Oh, and one more thing, the Patch Rocks.

You are indeed easily rocked, CS.

We NEED to add Rivercrest Farm. It is an amazing place. They do a lot of work donating plants to schools, girl scout troops, and boy scout troops. Just wonderful people and wonderful selection of plants.

Haha, not really.

Also they offer CSA shares where you can join and pick up fresh vegetables throughout the year.

I would of voted for Glorias garden center but they are no longer in business, so my second choice would be Robert Treats! But I do agree that Filanoskis is a very friendly family busness!! I remember when thwy had a fruit and veggie stand on BPT Ave!

I like them all - & shop at each for different things. Can't choose one over the other.
Also what about Glendale Farms?
Jennifer Ibarra August 5, 2012 at 01:46 pm
you're right I do like them all for different things. I would say that I don't especially like Lowe's though, because it is not owned by a local Milford resident and it is pretty pricey compared to the others for ordinary and commonplace things.
George S August 5, 2012 at 09:24 pm
Robert Treat's is very nice and pretty but their prices are outrageous. It's a good thing to support local business and keep the money in the community but not so much when the business isn't even trying to compete price-wise. I may get some grief but I prefer Lowes- they truly have everything and are very convenient.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.
Lisa Taylor-Austin June 18, 2013 at 09:40 am
Please contact Forgotten Felines in Clinton. They are a no kill cat shelter. Offering "free toRead More a good home" pets is dangerous. There are bad people out there who take them and sell them to research labs or use them as bait in dog fighting. Please rethink this ad.
