Nominate Milford's Best for Readers' Choice

Click on the category below and nominate the best of local businesses in Milford.

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows about Milford to nominate the best spots in town.

There is a lot to celebrate about Milford: great beaches, great restaurants and great retail shopping. But who do you think is the best?

Help Patch determine the best of the best by entering your nominations in each one of these categories. We will be accepting nominations until July 9.

It’s easy:

  1. Click on the category that you'd like to submit a nomination to. Submit nominations to as many categories as you like!
  2. Nominate your favorite businesses in the . (Because this is a contest, you’ll need to create a Patch login to nominate and vote)
  3. Repeat the first two steps to continue submitting nominations.

Sign up for the Milford Patch e-newsletter to receive notice of when voting starts so you can support your favorite institution in the Readers' Choice contest. And don’t forget to tell your friends on Facebook, Twitter and email!

Then, on July 23, come back to vote on which nominee is the best. Whoever gets the most votes will be named the Readers' Choice winner.

Some of these are on the Fairfield Patch.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention arkay! I'm fixing it now.
Ryan Sartor (Editor) June 18, 2012 at 02:23 PM
All fixed. Thanks again, arkay!

Are there more categories? How do we recommend others that may not be currently there? Thank you.

How about consignment store?
jungis4545 June 19, 2012 at 09:45 AM
How about some news stories rather than pointless surveys? Too much work?
Ryan Sartor (Editor) June 19, 2012 at 02:03 PM
Chris: For this round of Readers' Choice, unfortunately, we have already decided on 25 categories. I'd love to have suggestions for future Readers' Choice segments, though! What did you have in mind?
Ryan Sartor (Editor) June 19, 2012 at 02:05 PM
Karen: It's not an exact fit, but Favorite Place for Antiques & Collectibles could certainly include Milford consignment stores. Thanks for the suggestion! http://milford.patch.com/articles/readers-choice-nominate-your-favorite-place-for-antiques-collectibles-a7e1be46

Collected Stories Bookstore is Milford's best small business. The owner is community-driven, informative, and has created a mini-community center within Downtown. Best place for information of any kind!

I love the Milford Patch with all its diversity and mix. Keep up the good work!

I heartily agree!

How about a generic "best restaurant" category? Bistro Basque is my favorite restaurant in Milford, but it serves none of the sub-specialties listed above.
Tessa Marquis July 03, 2012 at 01:11 AM
I agree, Alice. Bin100 would go in that category. It is also to be noted that "deli" covers sandwiches, but not Liquid Lunch, which is soups and sandwiches but not a deli.
Angus July 03, 2012 at 01:25 PM
Bin100 needs to relocate.
Tessa Marquis July 03, 2012 at 01:56 PM
I am curious: Why should Bin100 relocate? Seems to be doing well, in an area that needs better-quality dining, and easy to get to. Although, perhaps the other businesses in the area need to upgrade themselves...
arkay July 03, 2012 at 02:28 PM
They are in a fine location now, although it would be nice for them to be downtown. Imagine Bin 100 in the old CVS on the green. Fantastic!
arkay July 03, 2012 at 02:29 PM
Bistro Basque is our real "standout" restaurant, worthy of attracting foodies from all over the area.
