Milford's Next City Clerk Will Be Joanne Rohrig

Democrats will support Rohrig for the position.

Milford Republicans met Thursday night and decided to endorse former Milford Board of Education member Joanne Rohrig as the city's next city clerk.
Earlier this month two-term City Clerk Linda Stock died after a long illness.
Since Stock was a Republican, Republicans have the choice of recommending who fills her unexpired term.
Democratic Town Chairman Richard Smith told Milford Patch Friday that while Democrats have the vote to control who is the next city clerk, they will stand by the time honored position of allowing the party who had the seat to choose the successor.

I am very happy that the Democrats will honor Joanne's nomination by the Republicans. Five Republicans were nominated and Ms Rohrig won on the second ballot. She pledged to fill Linda's remaining term and then run for a full term of her own. We wish her much success in serving the people of Milford.
