Milford's Fourth Of July Ceremony

Festivities begin at 1 p.m.

The Milford Volunteer Fire Department and Troop 721 of the Boy Scouts of America in Milford in conjunction with the City of Milford and with the support of the Milford Girl Scouts will conduct the 2014 “Let Freedom Ring” National Bell ringing Ceremony to celebrate the birth of our country as a free and independent nation.

The event will take place on the Milford Green on Friday, July 4, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the retired alarm bell of the Milford Volunteer Fire Department.

The alarm bell will be rung thirteen times promptly at 2:00 p.m. EDST honoring the representatives of the thirteen original colonies who signed the Declaration of Independence. The ringing also pays tribute to the brave patriots who fought in and supported the American Revolution as well as all who sacrificed to maintain our freedom throughout the years.
