Milford Residents Oppose 135-Foot Cell Phone Tower

AT&T officials held a meeting to hear from residents'.

Milford residents are pleading with AT&T representatives to find a different location for a proposed 135-foot tall cell phone tower on Eels Hill Road, the Milford Mirror reports.

A meeting was held last Thursday and about 30 residents attended asking AT&T officials to find another commercial area for the cell phone tower. Residents expressed safety concerns and believe the pole is too intrusive.

AT&T officials want the tower because it will help boost its reception south of Interstate 95.

The Milford Mirror link has a lively discussion going on. I noticed TLK over there. Not that it's too relevant to building a cell tower, but I'm surprised the article didn't mention that location on Eels Hill Rd used to be a Nike Ajax Missile Program control site during the cold war. Of course there wasn't as much residential back then, but I can only imagine the opposition these days if something like that were to be set up. Never mind living near the actual launch site (near Quirk Rd).

I comment lots of places. Mirror usually doesn't have many commenters. Nice to see the tin foil wearing nut cases are there too. As at&t said you get as much radiation from your Wi-Fi as you would from this tower.
