Milford voters have picked and to face off in the November election when the two could possibly vie for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by , a former Democrat-turned-Independent who is retiring.
Whether or not the two will actually contend in November depends on the statewide results, which according to The Associated Press are reflective of local results. Patch will update readers soon as the official results are available.
In the meantime, here's how the votes were broken down in Milford, according to the office of the registrar.
Linda McMahon received 1,157 votes; Chris Shays, 320. With 6,889 registered Republicans in Milford, that's a voter turnout of 21.43 percent.
Chris Murphy received 861 votes; Susan Bysiewicz, 377. With 8,841 registered Democrats in Milford, that's a voter turnout of 14 percent.
