Libby is up for Adoption

This pitbull mix is energetic and loving.

Doggone it! Libby needs a new home!

The spirited pitbull mix, who's about 1 1/2 years old, is a stray who was found outside Pickle's Deli in April.

"She was looking for a handout," Chief Animal Control Officer Rick George joked.

Libby -- 40 pounds of puppy -- loves treats. She jumped toward the counter at Milford Animal Control headquarters, her temporary home, in hopes of snatching one from a jar.

"She's a spirited young lady that needs some guidance," George said.

Anyone interested in adopting Libby is encouraged to stop by Animal Control at Silver Sands State Park or call the office at 203-783-3279. Monetary and pet-food donations -- particularly cat food -- are also welcome.
