Jesse Osmun to Be Sentenced Today

The former Peace Corps volunteer and Milford resident pleased guilty to sexually abusing children.

 

On June 27th, 2012, Milford resident Jesse Osmun, 32, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing four girls while volunteering with the Peace Corps in South Africa.

Osmun is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, October 10, at 11:00 a.m. by Chief U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford.

In August, a restitution fund was being set up for girls sexually abused by Osmun while he was in the Peace Corps.

$10,000 was provided by Osmun's family for the fund. Restitution was discussed as part of a plea agreement, said Osmun's attorney, Richard Meehan Jr.
