Deadline for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Applications Is July 31

The Small Business Administration is offering loans to qualifying homeowners, renters and small businesses affected by Super Storm Sandy.

The Connecticut Small Business Development Center has announced resources which are available to those affected by Super Storm Sandy.

The Small Business Administration is offering Economic Injury Disaster Loans to qualifying homeowners, renters, and small businesses impacted by the storm to deal with disaster-related losses.

Additionally, the Small Business Development Center is offering no-cost counseling to help businesses affected by Super Storm Sandy recover and grow.

Homeowners and renters may use loan money on both real and personal property which was damaged, while small businesses may use the low-interest working capital loans in a variety of ways, including for physical repairs as well as for bills which owners were unable to pay because of the storm.

In addition to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives and most non-profit organizations are eligible to apply for these loans.

“We are constantly searching for new resources to help our citizens in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy,” Mayor Ben Blake said. “The recovery is an on-going process and we refuse to forget about our shoreline residents who are still in need. These programs will be a great help to homeowners, renters, and small business owners who were affected by the storm.”  

The deadline to apply for the loans is July 31, 2013 and the application is available at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
