Great stuff! Now all we need is a map to help us verify what district we're in.
ATM November 05, 2012 at 07:07 PM
Yup. I need that map too!

I'm less confused than I was a little while ago. http://www.cga.ct.gov/maps/townlist.asp and http://www.cga.ct.gov/maps/house/milford.asp are prior to redistricting. Tomorrow we're electing for after the redistricting, those districts are shown here: http://www.cga.ct.gov/red2011/Documents/2011MAPHOUTOWN/20112011MAP-20111201_Milford.pdf If I'm wrong please correct me; I've got to go find the sample ballot for the district I'm really in (really will be in) and plan accordingly.

Vote for Wayne Winsley and Retire Rosa, "Diva of Debt, Deficit, and Dependency" from her 22 years as a 'career politician' in congress. "We ALL Win with Winsley!" whether you are Democrat, Republican or unaffiliated! Thanks for the humor and wisdom, Wayne--delivered with such enthusiasm, intelligence and personal warmth during this crucial campaign. For those who have not met Wayne at a meeting or one of the rallies, please check him out at www.winsleyforcongress.org. Please spread the word about what a fantastic replacement for DeLauro that Winsley will be in congress! Wayne is also on Facebook. www.facebook.com/Winsley.for.Congress If you support Wayne, you can help by picking up a sign, gather some friends and family and hold an impromptu rally at a well-trafficked intersection! You can help tomorrow by standing at a polling place in the 3rd Congressional District with a Winsley sign, wearing his button and a smile, and letting voters know: "You have a real CHOICE for congress! We All Win with Winsley!" Here is a one minute video message from Wayne: http://t.co/x7Rxb9DC "You have a choice this election!"

The unsung heroes of the elections are our Registrars, Deputy Registrars and the temps in the Registrar's office, plus at the Secretary of State's office. This election cycle has been incredibly taxing, with multiple primaries and increased registrations of new voters. Then, throw in power outages and unknowns about if polling places will have electricity. To everyone who touches this process and serves to ensure free and fair elections - Thank you.

Did I mention the City Clerk, Linda Stock, and the rest of the team in the City Clerk's office? Should have! They, too, are core members of the team that make elections happen. Thank you, Linda and all in the City Clerk's office! It's not an easy job. It's reassuring to know there are good people doing things right.

I missed the local candidates' debate - and the only thing that I saw in the Patch was an article about each candidate's position on abortion....did they answer an questions regarding small business' or job creation specific to Milford, Orange and West Haven communities??
Lynne McNamee November 06, 2012 at 11:43 AM
MJ, yes, the candidates mainly talked about local issues. Patch decided to focus on the controversial issue in their coverage.

ALERT! MUST read: "Support for Kill List and NDAA make Obama and Romney Unfit for Office" http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/reawakening-liberty/2012/nov/2/support-kill-list-and-ndaa-make-obama-and-romney-u/

Thanks Lynne, Ryan Sartor from the Patch promised more coverage, but all I saw was the discussion about abortion. I am sorry that I missed the debate. I would love to know what all the candidates had to say about small business and local job creation.

TAX INCREASE for the middle class - Have you taken a look at your employer provided healthcare options for next year?? Did you notice that the Flex Spending Cap for healthcare has been reduced to $2500 from $5000??? For those who have contact lenses/glasses, kids with braces and other medical costs, this is a TAX INCREASE for the middle class. If you are in the 25% tax bracket and have a kid with braces, this increase your tax by $625... 28% bracket - $700, 33% bracket - $825. This is real money folks - just a taste of what you are going to pay to help support Obamacare, yes, this change in the Flex spending limit is written into the Obamacare bill. BTW, if you are in 25%-33% tax bracket, you can add another 3% when the Bush tax cuts are allowed to expire, although our current president tells you that he just wants the top 1% to pay a little more ( and the rest of us a lot more!) Thank Chris Murphy, Rosa Delauro and their partners in crime!
