Members of the Milford Police Department responded to the pier at Walnut Beach just after 6 p.m. on Aug. 4. According to witnesses, a 48-year-old male performed a jumping maneuver from the pier and landed in shallow water.
Police and fire department personnel treated the male for life threatening injuries on the scene. The victim, whose identify has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries, police said.
