Toddler Found Roaming in Milford

Local man faces risk of injury charge for alleged incident.

A 27-year-old Milford resident faces a risk of injury charge after allegedly allowing his toddler to roam unsupervised on East Broadway Saturday afternoon.

Hamad Alzannan of Monroe Street was released on a promise to appear for a scheduled court appearance on Nov. 12.

Police said they received a report of “an unsupervised toddler walking alone on East Broadway” about 2 p.m. Saturday.

Two locals looked after the child for about 15 minutes before Alzannan exited his building and retrieved the toddler, police said.

Milford police spokesman Jeff Nielsen said Monday that the child is now in the care of the other parent.

The Department of Children and Families has been notified of the incident.
