Teen Busted for Allegedly Stabbing Squatter in Cemetery

She allegedly admitted her role.

Police have busted a 17-year-old Milford girl for allegedly stabbing a man who had been seeking temporary shelter in a tent in Milford Cemetery last month.

The 56-year-old man reported that he had been attacked about 1:41 a.m. April 7 in the Gulf Street graveyard by a mystery brunette with acne who spoke to him briefly, left, and then returned to stab him with a knife, police said.

"The victim was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries to his face, hand and leg as a result of the alleged attack," police said. "The victim was released from the hospital."

Shortly thereafter, investigators developed information which identified the 17-year- old girl as a suspect in the attack, according to police.

During the investigation, the youthful offender --who was not identified because of her age -- admitted ther involvement in the stabbing, police said.

Investigators say they recovered the knife used in the attack.

They got an arrest warrant for the teen -- and busted her on Monday, police said.

She was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, and third-degree criminal mischief, according to police.

The girl was released on a $25,000 bond and given a court date of May 25, 2011 at Milford Superior Court, police said.
