Shoplifting Suspect Leaves Wallet Behind - And Is Busted

This information was provided by the Milford Police Department.

A shoplifting suspect made a clean getaway -- except for leaving her wallet behind along with the stuff she was allegedly trying to steal from Stop & Shop, police said.

The suspect, identified as Kelly McCormack, 27, of 47 Overlook Ave., and a male companion had piled $625 worth of items -- including 25 cases of Red Bull energy drink and eight cans of baby formula -- into a shopping cart, and then allegedly left the supermarket at 1360 E. Town Road without paying, according to police.

"A store employee approached them in the parking lot at which time they left the merchandise behind and fled the scene in a vehicle," police said in a press release. "Police located a female's wallet with McCormack's driver's license in the shopping cart resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest."

McCormack was charged with fifth-degree larceny when she was picked up on a warrant around noon Tuesday, police said.

She was held in lieu of $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 3, according to police.

To clarify, they have 4 cats, and they're only able to take two of them, plus their 14 year old dog.Read More It was a struggle for them to even find a way to get the dog in the rental agreement, otherwise they would have tried to take them. :(

Sad that they had to leave these beauties behind. I'm sure they are heartbroken over it.
