Milford Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 79 North Street Wednesday night.
Car 4 (shift commander) Engine 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, Tower 1 and Rescue 1 responded. Units were enroute at 10:02 p.m. and the first units were on scene at 10:04 p.m..
On arrival water supply was established and crews found heavy fireshowing on the second floor C/D corner. Crews stretched an attack line to the second floor to extinguish the seat of the fire.
Back up lines were stretched to protect the stairwell egress. A third larger attack line was stretched to the secondfloor to extinguish the fire in the attic. Other companies searched the home and found no occupants inside. All units were clear and back in service at 11:24 p.m.
The home was uninhabitable, occupants obtained shelter at a local hotel with the assistance of the Red Cross. No injuries were reported by occupants or personnel at the scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation bythe Fire Marshall’s office.
