Stratford Woman Accused of Embezzling $25K from Milford Employer

Bernadette Volikas fled to Arizona after the alleged crimes, police said.

 

A 36-year-old Stratford woman was arrested Monday for allegedly embezzling approximately $25,000 from a former employer in Milford.

Bernadette Volikas of East Broadway faces charges of first-degree larceny and computer crimes.

Volikas is accused of embezzling the funds from Collegian Movers, located in the Devon section of Milford, from Sept. 2012 to Nov. 2012, police said.

Volikas was taken into custody in Arizona, where police said she fled after the alleged crimes. She was transported to Connecticut and as of Tuesday night was being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Collegian Movers is located at 674 Naugatuck Ave.
