Stop & Shop Rewards Card Leads to Shoplifting Arrest

Arrest information provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Shelton was arrested for allegedly shoplifting from the Stop & Shop located at 855 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.

Nick Trovarelli Jr., age 34 of Shelton, is accused of using a Stop & Shop rewards card on December 28th, 2012 to purchase a $1 bag of candy. Trovarelli then left the store with $135 in unpaid items, according to Milford Police.

While outside the store, Trovarelli allegedly took a purse from a customer's shopping cart, but surrendered all of the items after being approached by a store employee.

Researching the Stop & Shop rewards card of a relative of Trovarelli led to his arrest.
