Police: Milford Man Steals from Car, Then Sets It On Fire

A Milford man faces numerous charges after he allegedly stole items from a vehicle Sunday night, intentionally set the car on fire — and then attempted to resist and flee from police following his arrest.

Scott Wolf, 28, of Seaside Avenue in Milford, was charged with:

• second-degree arson
• second-degree burglary
• first-degree criminal mischief
• second-degree criminel mischief
• sixth-degree larceny
• sixth-degree criminal attempt to commit larceny
• interfering with police
• disorderly conduct
• second-degree threatening
• misuse of emergency 911 system

Several 911 Calls

According to Milford Police, the department received several 911 calls from 285 Seaside Avenue, which were later determined to be made by Wolf. 

Once upon the scene, officers found Wolf exiting a vehicle with a GPS device he allegedly took from the vehicle. 

Vehicle On Fire

Police then observed another vehicle on fire, which was parked next to the one Wolf had just exited.

Officers report that they later found Wolf in possession of property he had allegedly taken from the second vehicle that was on fire.

Milford Police detectives and Milford Fire Department officials investigated and eventually determined that the second vehicle was intentionally set on fire.

Resisting Arrest

Wolf was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation. 

While there, Wolf attempted to feel from officers and resisted their efforts, police said.

He was held on a $50,000 bond.
