A Metro-North commuter train out of Waterbury struck an SUV at the Oronoque Road crossing in Milford early Friday afternoon.

The MTA stated that there were no reported injuries to any of the train's passengers or to the vehicle's occupants, according to a WTNH report.

The incident occurred just before 1 p.m.

The New Haven Register reports an MTA spokesperson said the train that hit the vehicle was running again shortly after 2 p.m.

Idiot. Its not like the trains are long on that track. Wait 30 seconds and the train is gone. This happens every other year. Don't blow through the gates. Lucky that no one died.

Where is this X-ing? Trying to picture it...

Tmc, according to a tweet, it was near the transfer station. That is, near the Housatonic River -- this is the Waterbury line (not the pictured mainline.) Given the citation issued, I don't think the driver tried to jump the gate, but that he couldn't stop in the rain.

There's no gate at the Oronoque X-ing near Lexington Green; must be another one near Caswell Cove that I don't go over.
