A 30-year-old New Haven man was arrested early Sunday for his alleged actions at a Milford hotel that reportedly included robbing hotel guests at knifepoint.
Pedro Poupart of Edgar Street was held in lieu of $50,000 bond for his alleged behavior at 1052 Boston Post Road, the address for Howard Johnson Hotel, police said Monday.
Poupart was staying at the hotel with a relative, police said. When the relative attempted to exit the room, police said Poupart struck and restrained the relative from leaving.
According to police, in the course of the early morning, Poupart also entered the room of two hotel guests and robbed them at knifepoint.
Police said they recovered the knife and a small amount of marijuana from Poupart during the arrest.
The New Haven man was charged with first-degree robbery; second-degree unlawful restraint (2 counts); second-degree threatening (2 counts); third-degree assault; sixth-degree larceny; disorderly conduct; and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
