The Milford Police Department participated in wave 43 of the Connecticut Department of Transportation High Visibility Safety Belt/Child Safety Seat “Click it or Ticket, Day & Night” Campaign.
A safe travel holiday season was the theme of this statewide campaign which began on December 3, 2012 and ended on December 16, 2012.
This campaign involved high visibility enforcement efforts regarding children restrained in child safety seats, seat belt usage among vehicle occupants and compliance with the proper use of cell phones.
Police efforts included safety checkpoints in various locations of the city. Listed below are the enforcement results for this safety campaign:
- Seat belt infractions: 76
- Child safety restraints infractions: 1
- Other motor vehicle violation infractions: 11
- Motor vehicle summons: 4
- Seat belt warnings: 33
- Criminal arrests: 1
