Milford Teens Nabbed for Graffiti in Town

Face 11 counts of second-degree breach of peace, among other charges.

Two Milford teens were arrested Saturday in connection with several acts of graffiti in town.

From September to November, the majority of the vandalism consisted of an upside-down cross, spray-painted or drawn in marker, police said.

The graffiti often had the tag "Woodland C" and the alleged vandals targeted playgrounds at schools, Silver Sands State Park and Mondo Trails on West Avenue, police said.

Bilal Lopez and Alex Garcia, both 18, each face charges of third-degree criminal mischief (11 counts) and conspiracy to commit third-degree criminal mischief.

The teens face additional charges of second-degree breach of peace and conspiracy to commit second-degree breach of peace.

Lopez and Garcia each were released on $5,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Jan. 7.
