Milford Police Warn of Thefts from Vehicles

Police are encouraging residents to secure their vehicles and remove or secure items left inside their vehicle out of sight.

On March 3, 2013 the Milford Police Department received complaints regarding vehicles that had been broken into and items taken in the areas of Wheelers Farms Road, Lavery Lane and Dart Hill Road during the previous overnight hours.

Investigation revealed that a majority of the vehicles were left unlocked resulting in money, GPS units and clothing items being taken. Police recovered items taken from a vehicle on Lavery Lane inside another vehicle entered on Dart Hill Road.

Two out of the five vehicles were rummaged through but nothing was taken according to the owners.

Police are encouraging residents to secure their vehicles and remove or secure items left inside their vehicle out of sight.

Take advantage of outside lighting and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods to the police department.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the Milford Police Department at (203) 878-6551.
