Milford Police: New Haven Man Charged with Child Pornography

The 44-year-old suspect is currently listed on the Connecticut sex offender registry, Milford Police said.

A New Haven man listed on the state's sex offender registry was arrested after a cyber tip revealed child pornography was being transmitted over the internet from the suspect's recreational vehicle, Milford Police said.

Richard Gschlecht, 44, of Ella Grasso Boulevard in New Haven, was charged April 15 with third-degree possession of child pornography.

According to Milford Police, the department received a cyber tip that child pornography was being transmitted over the internet on Feb. 19.  And an investigation identified Gschlecht as a suspect.

Investigators secured an arrest warrant for Gschlecht and the recreational vehicle belonging to him. 

Milford Police located Gschlecht in his recreational vehicle parked in a Saw Mill Road parking lot in West Haven.

Officers executed the warrant on Gschlecht's vehicle, which led to the seizure of computers and other electronic devices related to the investigation, police said. 

Police added that Gschlecht is currently listed on the Connecticut sex offender registry.

He was held on a $50,000 bond.
