Milford Police K9 Sniffs Out Crack Cocaine

New Haven man allegedly found with 17 bags of crack cocaine in Milford.

A New Haven man was recently arrested in Milford following a motor vehicle stop on Old Gate Lane where officers with the help of a police canine allegedly found the man in possession of 17 bags of crack cocaine.

Delton Pyles, 24, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a motor vehicle whole under suspension.

Pyles was released on a promise to appear for a court date on Oct. 1.

“Cedar,” a Labrador, was the name of the police canine to assist in the arrest.

The Milford Police Department’s K9 units consists of three German shepherds and Cedar, who is used solely for narcotics detection.
