Milford Police K-9 Cedar Assists in Teen Drug Arrest

Milford Police arrested two Milford teenagers during an anti-crime patrol Saturday, March 16.

Detectives allegedly observed Reynaldo Canales, Jr., age 18 of 57 Spruce Street, Milford, snorting a powder which was determined to be a narcotic medication.

According to police, Canales attempted to destroy the evidence during the investigation.

Anthony Luvara, age 19 of 142 Ash Street, Milford, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. 

Drug detection K-9 Cedar located marijuana and numerous drug paraphernalia items inside the vehicle.

Luvara had an outstanding warrant held by Milford Police accusing him of making contact with a former companion and threatening to damage her vehicle on November 17, 2012. Luvara had allegedly been previously warned not to have contact with the victim.

Reynaldo Canales, Jr. was charged with possession of narcotics, illegal storage of prescription medication, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, interfering with police and tampering with evidence.

Anthony Luvara was charged with second degree breach of peace, second degree threatening, second degree harassment and possession of marijuana.
Canales was released on a promise to appear in court on April 9. 

Luvara was also released on a promise to appear in court. His court date was March 18.
