Milford Police Crack Home Burglary Case

A Shelton man is charged with stealing items from a residence.

Milford police have arrested a Shelton man in connection with an October 2010 robbery in which computer gaming systems and jewelry were stolen from a Knob Hill residence.

Arrested by warrant at 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 17 was Eric Mensik, 39, on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny. Mensik was held on a $10,000 bond, police said.

A report of a domestic disturbance led to the arrest of a 45-year-old Milford man on a charge of second-degree breach of peace on Feb. 18.

Milford police said an investigation revealed that the man, identified as Vincent Edwards of Midway Avenue, allegedly forced his spouse out of a vehicle and pushed her to the ground during a dispute in the parking lot of 541 Bridgeport Ave.

Edwards’ bond was set at $500 and he was scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 21.

Driving Under the Influence

A 21-year-old Milford woman was arrested by warrant on Feb. 17 on charges of evading responsibility, failure to drive right and driving under the influence.

Milford police said the woman, Meghan Giorgio of Narrow Lane, allegedly was involved in two accidents the night of Dec. 20, 2011, and fled the scene of both. Giorgio was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in one of those accidents, police said.

Giorgio’s bond was set at $500 and her court date is scheduled for March 8.

Motorcycle Thefts

A 21-year-old Milford man was arrested by warrant at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 in relation to the 2011 theft of two motorcycles.

Milford police said they received a report in August 2011 that the two motorcycles were stolen from a Waterview Landing residence. During the recovery of one of the motorcycles, police were reportedly informed that the suspect, Jayson Rotz of Locust Street, had allegedly sold it to the person in possession of it.

Rotz was charged with fifth-degree larceny and second-degree forgery. His bond was set at $10,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court March 6.
