Milford Police Canine “Cedar” sniffed out a special delivery Friday that led to the arrest of two local residents, who are accused of receiving almost 7 pounds of marijuana valued at between $21,000-$28,000, police said Monday.

The accused recipients of the package, Laura Plaskowitz, 26, and Eric Kahn, 33, both of Anderson Avenue, were arrested by police Friday. Both were charged with numerous drug offenses.

Milford police, along with other law enforcement agencies, intercepted the “suspicious package” at the U.S. Post Office, the New Haven Register reported.

The department’s canine alerted to the package, which allegedly revealed 4.8 pounds of marijuana, according to a police report.

When searching their house, police allegedly found two additional pounds of marijuana, packing materials and packing scales.

Plaskowitz and Khan were each charged with possession of marijuana, conspiracy to possess marijuana and conspiracy to possess marijuana with the intent to sell. Plaskowitz was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Plaskowitz was released on a promise to appear, while Kahn was released on $50,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Superior Court, Milford, June 24.
